Although
Corel was undergoing a change in ownership the week before our meeting
with a merger with the Vector Capital Group and Microsoft, Philip Pacheeo made
an outstanding presentation to our group. He focused on the new features
in Painter 8, but also
tried to emphasize important keyboard shortcuts and instructions to
make the program more user friendly. The addition of a dock like in
Photos was one of the many new features that make Painter 8 easier
to use than previous versions. He elaborated on the new woodcut effect
and showed several examples he
had created
for
the
presentation.
He brought a multitude of raffle prizes for our group and we had one
of the best raffles of all time since he wouldn't be making any further
presentations after the acquisition was completed. There were two Painter
8, three Painter 7, CorelDraw
Suite 11,
Knockout 2.0, and several video tapes and books.
