Bill Dixon gave an outstanding presentation at our May 6 meeting. Bill usually uses Photoshop 5.5 on his PC and he started the presentation familiarizing himself with the transition to Photoshop CS on a Mac by drawing an eye. He uses Photoshop at its basics to get his images onto canvas. He generally doesn't utilize layers or any of Photoshop's tools except for brushes, the eyedropper, and the color picker to do his drawings. He works in a grid setup and brushes color or white to achieve his desired result. He described his typical day that includes drawing for about 8 hours a day and how he made the transition from a traditional job to one of doing his unique artwork. Bill was very candid and told about some of the bumps in the road along with many of his triumphs. |
