We went
on a "Road Trip" for our April 4th meeting to Platt College
in Cerritos and were richly rewarded with an excellent presentation by
Stan Holden on Flash and a great turnout for the meeting. All the chairs
were filled and there was a good blend of interested Platt college students
as well as a very good turnout of LBMG members. A special thank you to
Karen Dittman for allowing us to meet at Platt College and of course to
Stan Holden for his excellent presentation. We had a bit of difficulty
at the start because Flash 5 does not work in OS X (I found that out rather
late, didn't I), but thanks to Matt of MIS at Platt College, another computer
was hooked up to the projector and the rest of the presentation went off
without further problems. Stan Holden of The Looney Bin showed the wrong
and right way to code in Flash as well as gave techniques to make great
looking animations. It was great seeing the completed "Rebel
Without A Claus" and it was very apparent why "Rebel
Without A Claus" and his first animation, "Take
My Antlers, Please!" have been inducted into The Museum Of Television
And Radio. Stan very candidly answered the many questions he was asked
by a very interested audience.
