Michelle
Lindsey made a great presentation at our meeting bringing along a huge
18" Cintiq
monitor-tablet along with her favorite, 6" x 8" Intuos2 tablet.
She showed how easy it is to set up the tablets and showed examples
of using the tablet
with
the bundled Procreate Painter Classic and Nik Multimedia Pen Tools.
Wacom
has three lines of tablets,
the Graphire2, Intuos2, and Cintiq. The Cintiq line uses a
15" or 18"
screen as the tablet surface that you can draw on and is very
easy to adapt to for drawing or illustrating. wacom very generously
donated a new
Graphire2 to our raffle along with a Scott Kelby Photoshop training
video.
Roger
took the last half hour of the meeting and showed two of the new iLife
applications— iPhoto2 and iMovie3 as well as Apple's new Keynote presentation
software. Iphoto has several improvements including a one-click enhance
feature as well as a new, very powerful retouch feature. iMovie has
a new "Ken Burns" panning of still photograph feature that also was
shown. Keynote was also demonstrated and it is very powerful with easy
to use transitions for slides and
text builds as well as controllable opacity for photographs.
There
was a bevy of prizes garnered for the raffle by Roger from
the recent MacWorld Expo in San Francisco as well as the Grand Prizes
of a Graphire2 and a Photoshop training video tape donated by Wacom.
